Preparation, Planning and Positioning for Opportunities -"3PO"-
In 2007, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) estimated that 90% of the federal executive workforce will be eligible for retirement over the next 10 years. Their findings reminded agencies that sustainable efforts must be implemented to address this future loss of leadership, knowledge and expertise. DSI understands the importance of gaining insight into the developmental workforce and the critical personnel needs of federal and private sectors of government. But, how are we to support and replace a loss of such intellectual property while assuring a pipeline of interested, qualified candidates eager to participate in the federal government? 3PO!
DSI's "3PO" program of information and application targets students ages 12 - 20 and focuses on the preparation, planning, and positioning needed to secure opportunities in the federal government where background checks and security clearances are required. 3PO provides a system and approach to attract and develop high-potential candidates interested in pursuing federal careers.
3PO, implemented through the preparation of middle school students, combined with the participation of college bound high schoolers, transitioning to those enrolled in colleges can produce a pipeline of well informed, mature, educated, responsible adults. Subsequently, those students receiving information and direction from 3PO have a greater understanding of the need, importance and benefits gained when a security clearance can be issued and realize the opportunities, career growth potential, security and satisfaction that can be obtained by working for the federal government.
