I am writing this letter as a testament of Mr. Kent Guthrie’s outstanding attributes as a professional, and as a fellow colleague in the field of creating educational opportunities for under-represented groups in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. I met Kent two years ago when our office contracted with Kent’s organization to help market, promote and increase student applications for under-represented groups for educational internship programs at PNNL.
Kent was a great asset to our marketing efforts. He was extraordinarily helpful in inspiring and motivating the students to apply. In addition, he also promoted our educational programs, which resulted in increased student applications. I consider Kent’s performance to exceed my expectations and I hope that we will continue our working relationship to provide STEM educational research opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students for a long time.
